ADVANTAGE AND DISADVANTAGE OF THE INTERNET
The Internet has now become the best business tool in the modern world. Today, it has brought the world in one single room. Right from getting news across all corners of the world, accessing knowledge resources to shopping; everything is at your fingertip. The Internet has tremendous potential and a lot to offer in terms of services. However, like every single innovation in science and technology, the Internet has its own advantages and disadvantage.

ADVANTAGES
 FASTER COMMUNICATION
With internet, communication has become faster, affordable and a lot easier as we no longer need to wait for a week before a sent message gets to the intended receiver unlike the Stone Age when communication technology was not in existence. Now we can connect with someone at the end of the globe. Besides, there are plenty of messenger services in offering. With the help of such services, it has become very easy to establish a kind of global friendship where you can share your thoughts and explore other cultures.

 SOCIAL NETWORKING
The internet allows us to meet different kinds of people in different countries, different languages, different tribes and virtually all walks of life as we no longer need to travel or go through any form of stress to contact those we want to, when we want to. We cannot imagine an online life without Facebook or Twitter. Social networking has become so popular amongst the youth that it might one day replace physical networking as it has created a platform for finding long-lost friends; you can also look for job, business opportunities on forums, communities etc. Besides, there are chat rooms where users can meet new and interesting people. Some of them may even end up finding their life partners plus their former partners.

 ONLINE SERVICES
With the ease of life with the use of internet, numerous online stores are now available where one can book tickets: for movies, transfer funds, pay utility bills, taxes etc.; right from one home.

 POOL OF INFORMATION
Information, the greatest priority in human existence, is no longer a problem as internet now provides them for individuals in abundance. Search engines like Google, Yahoo are at one’s service on the Internet. There is a huge amount of information available on the Internet for just about every subject known to man; ranging from government law and services, trade fairs and conferences, market information, new ideas and technical support, the list is simply endless.

 CHANNEL FOR BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS
The new-age communication technology, the internet now makes it more stress free to carry out transactions as business contract are processed and accessed online without having to go through the stress of meeting your business partner.

DISADVANTAGES

 IMPERSONATION
People posing as other people in order to take advantage of the uses of internet, leading to identity theft and impersonating by using the net to defraud other people as you tell them who you are not, while pretending to be; e.g. A guy telling another guy that he is a girl when he is not as nobody would query him on the internet.

 SPAMMING
Spamming refers to sending unwanted e-mails in bulk, which provide no purpose and needlessly obstruct the entire system. Such illegal activities can be very frustrating for one as it makes one’s Internet slower and less reliable.

 PORNOGRAPHY
Pornography is perhaps the biggest disadvantage of the Internet. Internet allows you to access and download millions of pornographic photos, videos and other X-rated items. Such unrestricted access to pornography can be detrimental to children and teenagers. It can even play havoc in marital and social lives of adults.

 DEVALUATION/SOCIAL DISCONNECT
With the increased internet use, people now like to meet on net rather than meeting the person face-to-face leading to the devaluation of the face to face relationship. Even children prefer to play online games rather than going out and mingling with other kids. This may hamper a healthy social development in children.

 LACK OF JOB
As people now pay their bills online, recharge their phone, buy up houses, cars, and shop online, the need for store keepers, advertisers etc might become irrelevant leading to lack of job.

George Zimmerman had a problem with black males. He had a history of reporting black men as suspicious. He profiled, stalked, chased and gunned down an unarmed innocent kid who happen to be walking the neighborhood in black skin.
